Alper Coşkun, appointed as Turkey’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, who will assume his duties on August 15th, 2012 visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that they have always regarded Azerbaijan as a friend and brother country while Ambassador Coşkun stated that he would do his utmost to further good relations with Azerbaijan.​

Stating that the private sector is ready to do its part, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that Turkey seizing on the opportunities presented by this country would both increase the prosperity of the Azerbaijani people and strengthen trade relations. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu related the benefits of revitalizing the historic Silk Road and the modernization of the border customs gates for Azerbaijan and the countries of the region.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they wish to visit Azerbaijan at an opportune time and present the projects to the Azerbaijan President while also providing information regarding international arbitration.
