After greeting the members in his opening speech, Ali Kopuz started his speech by commemorating our 12 martyrs who were lost in a treacherous attack. Emphasizing the deadliest earthquake in recent history with more than 50,000 casualties, Mr. Kopuz stated that 2023 was a year of sadness, that they were bitter but proud because it was the 100th anniversary of the Republic, and that he hoped that 2024 would be a year of peace, unity and solidarity for both Türkiye and the whole world, away from disasters.

He said that he believes that the sector will come to better points and achieve much greater success with cooperation.

Touching on the climate crisis and green transformation in her speech, Kopuz stated that as TOBB, they attach great importance to green transformation for a more sustainable world and that they carry out studies at this point. In this context, she informed that they launched the Climate and Environment Portal in 2022 to facilitate the follow-up of developments about the European Green Deal, and that all processes from current developments, published legislation, studies carried out by banks and the loans they provide can be accessed from here. In addition, Ali Kopuz said that they opened the Carbon Platform for the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions at the basic level in order to increase the awareness of companies, and that MEYBEM, a subsidiary of TOBB, was accredited by TÜRKAK in the coming period, and that they serve the private sector at a much more affordable cost in the field of verification.
