Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

In his opening speech, TOBB Vice President Ender Yorgancılar emphasized the importance of the Council by stating that the defense industry sector is one of the most important sectors of Türkiye.

TOBB Board Member Seyit Ardıç touched upon the European Green Deal processes. Ardıç underlined that the exports to the European Union of companies that cannot comply with the legislation and cannot change their production processes will be disrupted.

TOBB Board Member Mehmet Büyüksimitci conveyed the greetings of TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and shared with the participants that they are aware of the problems of the sector and that all the problems communicated are sensitively followed and addressed as TOBB.

Ahmet Akyol, General Manager of Aselsan A.Ş., was unanimously elected to the seat left vacant due to the fact that the President of the Council of the previous term was the President of the Defense Industry.

At the meeting, a general evaluation of the sector was made and future projections were discussed.

Nur Özkan Erbay, Coordinator of the Turkish Brand Office of the Presidential Communications Office, gave a presentation titled “Brand Communication in the Defence Industry.”

The Council meeting ended with a presentation on the European Green Deal process by Demet Işıl Karakurt, Trade Expert from the Ministry of Trade, General Directorate of International Agreements and the EU.
