TOBB Board Member Seyit Ardıç started his opening speech by expressing his pleasure to work with the sector as the Board Member responsible for TOBB Türkiye Medical Council. Ardıç talked about the effects of global developments such as climate change, war, increase in commodity prices, especially the European Union regulations, on our country.

Council President Levent Mete Özgürbüz started his opening speech by thanking Hakkı Karabörklü, Asım Hocaoğlu and their teams for their participation and support to the sector. Mr. Özgürbüz left the floor to Mr. Asım Hocaoğlu to move on to the agenda of the meeting, which consisted of issues related to ensuring continuity of supply.

TİTCK President Asım Hocaoğlu concluded his speech by mentioning the point reached in terms of the sustainability of healthcare services and stated that they will endeavor to find solutions to the problems faced by the sector in terms of access to both medical devices and pharmaceuticals, which will be expressed at this meeting.

Hakkı Karabörklü, Director General of Product Safety and Inspection of the Ministry of Trade, stated that the regulations made are based on the protection of people and the environment on the basis of the safety of life and property, and that their aim is to ensure the supply of products without any restrictions. In this context, he emphasized the importance of the products produced in our country to be certified by the certification bodies in our country and placed the floor to Sanem Yumurtacı, Head of Import Inspections Department and İbrahim Adil Güllü, Trade Inspector, to make a presentation on the inspections in import processes.

The meeting, which included two presentations - “Import Inspections of Medical Devices” and “Inappropriate Products in Medical Device Inspections,” - was concluded with the evaluation by Council Members and public administration representatives.
