Regulation on the duty of care in German supply chains discussed at TOBB

The Hybrid Economy Meeting on the Law on the Obligation of Care in Federal German Supply Chains and Its Effects on Turkish-German Economic Relations was held with the participation of the German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and company officials.​

The opening speeches were made by TOBB Board Member Mehmet Büyüksimitci, AHK Türkiye Secretary General and Board Member Dr. Thilo Pahl, Federal Embassy of Germany Social Affairs Attaché Gabriele Weinhold. TOBB Sectors and Entrepreneurship Department Head Ahmet Saygın Baban, Ministry of Trade International Agreements and EU Deputy General Director Bahar Güçlü, Ministry of Labor and Social Security General Directorate of Labor, Deputy General Director of Labor Dr. Hakkı Åžekerbay, German-Turkish CCI Arbitration Court President and European Leadership University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Köksal, ITU Faculty of Business Administration Lecturer Dr. Çiçek Ersoy,  AHK Türkiye Board Member Atty. Gamze Gökçen Pilevne, CBC Law Office Managing Partner Atty. Kemal AltuÄŸ Özgün, PAE Law Office Founding Partner Atty. Emre Keki, ÇiÄŸdemtekin Çakırca Arancı Attorney Partnership Founding Partner Atty. Gamze ÇiÄŸdemtekin Özer, Arçelik Sectoral Relations Director Canan Ergün Tavukçu and company officials attended the meeting.

During the meeting, consultations were held on the Law on the Duty of Care in Supply Chains (LkSG), which entered into force in Germany as of 1 January 2023, the effects of this law on companies, suppliers and supply chains in Türkiye and on the worldwide supply chains, and the effects of the law and the relevant draft EU directive (CSDD Directive) in the context of the Green Transformation objectives of the European Union.
