TOBB joins the UN World Tourism Organization’s administration

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has been selected to join the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s (UNWTO) Affiliated Members (Private Sector) Board of Directors, titled as Vice President.​

 

In a tweet from TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, it was reported from the UNWTO Affiliated Members General Assembly meeting in Berlin that he has joined the Board of Directors as Vice President.

Representing TOBB in the UNWTO Administration will be Turkey Tourism Council Vice President Hasan Arat.

It was stated in the announcement that, “TOBB, always taking up duties of the highest level in organizations worldwide has once again shouldered another such responsibility with the office of Board of Directors Vice President of UNWTO. Our goal is the global promotion of country through the use of the country’s great tourism potential and the attendance of the member countries of the organization.

To this end, the UNWTO World Tourism Forum & Affiliate Members General Conference planned to be held in İstanbul between 14th and 16th of November, 2012, will present an important occasion with the attendance of globally influential tourism agencies, academicians working on the international level and the members of our tourism sector.”
