The meeting was also attended by Customs and Commerce Minister Hayati Yazıcı and TOBB Board Vice President Faik Yavuz.

TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu speaking at the meeting, emphasized the exemplary nature of the Edirne Commerce Exchange for Turkey and said, “This is an extraordinary success story. The most important thing here is to maintain unity and solidarity. May Allah preserve your unity and solidarity. ‘Grace and prosperity in unity; anguish in dissent’ as it is said. If you are united and together, prosperity will come. When everyone dissents, how powerful and rich you are becomes meaningless. Thanks to your unity and solidarity, the Edirne Commerce Exchange is exemplary in its field nationally, even in a regional scope going so far as throughout the Balkans.”

Stating that they are doing beneficent work, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that in all developed countries, the farmers, the traders and the industrialists buy and sell goods, without fail, at their actual price and Edirne follows suit.

Congratulating the Edirne Commerce Exchange for their visits to Polatlı, Konya and Eskişehir, the TOBB President said, “They are, like you, praiseworthy exchanges of Turkey. In this regard I think that this trip has been a very positive experience.”

Customs and Commerce Minister Hayati Yazıcı stressed the importance of implementing licensed warehousing activities and said, “This will provide an example. I congratulate you all on the progress of the licensed warehousing in Edirne.”
