After the Citizens Meeting organized by the Constitution Platform, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, along with Speaker of the National Assembly Cemil Çiçek and his accompanying retinue visited the Antalya Mayor, Ahmet Altıparmak, at his offices.

Hisarcıklıoğlu and the group then toured the Antalya Museum. Mayor Altınparmak provided information on the museum.

After the museum, the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) was visited. Making a speech, Speaker Cemil Çiçek stated that Anltaya is an important city for Turkey’s tourism.

Stating that Turkey has no easily profitable income sources, Çiçek said, “We can’t dig a well and find oil or gas. Somebody or other picks a fight somewhere in the world, prices increase… We have no freebies like this. Turkey’s income is won by digging a well with a needle. Tourism, therefore, is one of Turkey’s most important avenues of income. Pioneering this front is Antalya.”

Stating that they attach high importance to EXPO’s in Turkey, Çiçek said that preparations for EXPO 2016, to be held in Antalya, should be made as soon as possible.

TOBB Board Member and ATSO President Çetin Osman Budak provided information on Antalya’s tourism, agriculture and industry potential. Afterwards, ATSO President Budak presented Speaker Çiçek with a plaque.
