The 36th Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) Conference was held on 28-30 November 2022 in Melbourne, Australia. TOBB Board Member Hakan Ülken, representing the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), attended the conference.

While the theme of “How Chambers of Commerce Will Define the New Economy” came to the fore in the conference, Aydın Chamber of Commerce was elected as the 'Best Chamber' of the Asia-Pacific Region with its services for its province and its members.

TOBB Board Member and Aydın Chamber of Commerce President Hakan Ülken and Assembly President Coşkun Cerit received the award at a ceremony held in Melbourne, Australia.

Stating that they will continue to serve their members with visionary projects, Hakan Ülken said, “There is an endless effort behind this award. There is the faith and effort of our AYTO Board of Directors, Assembly, Secretary General and AYTO staff.”

Ülken continued his speech: “Since the day we took office, as AYTO Management, we have implemented many initiatives and projects to improve the commercial lives of our members and to add value to the city. After TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu took office, our chambers and commodity exchanges took action with Mr. Rifat's vision and all the seeds sown happily turned into successful efforts and projects. The award we have received here today is an indication that our services and projects offered to our members have become visible and noticeable on an international scale. I would also like to thank the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Industry and Commerce, which has an important mission in developing regional and global cooperation and ensuring economic growth, for deeming us worthy of this award.”

Hakan Ülken also had a meeting with Arif Eser Torun, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Melburn. At the meeting, Türkiye-Australia economic and political relations were discussed.
