TÜRİB ELÜS Exchange celebrates its third year

The Turkish Commodity Exchange Electronic Product Stock (TÜRİB ELÜS) Exchange has completed its third year. During the 3-year operating period, ELÜS transaction volume increased 7 times.​

The Turkish Product Specialized Exchange Electronic Product Stock Exchange, which was put into operation on July 26, 2019 to support the steady growth of the agricultural sector and economy by bringing together agricultural producers and consumers on a central platform, has achieved significant successes while completing its third year.

With the launch of TÜRİB, it was ensured that buyers and sellers all over the country could make the purchase and sale of Electronic Product Bills transparently and securely through a single and national electronic platform.

- 135,000 INVESTORS

In the third year of its operation, the number of investors, including farmers, traders and industrialists registered in the ELÜS Exchange, increased more than threefold to 135,000, while the licensed warehouse capacity where the products traded in TÜRİB are stored increased more than twice to 8.4 million tons.

The number of licensed warehouse enterprises has increased to 159 as of July 2022 and these enterprises serve in 41 provinces, 121 districts and 225 locations.

The Soil Products Office also actively continues the purchase and sale of ELÜS through TÜRİB in the strategic products in its field of duty and carries out transactions in the form of both contracted transactions and continuous auctions.

During the 3-year operating period of TÜRİB, the transaction volume exceeded TL 55 billion and the amount of transactions exceeded 20 million tons, while the majority of the transactions were carried out by the private sector. Transactions were carried out in all of the ELÜSs subject to 17 products open for processing in TÜRİB.

Investor registrations to the TÜRİB ELÜS Trading Platform are carried out through 112 Commodity Exchanges that are agencies, and ELÜS transactions are carried out through the accounts of investors with 25 banks and brokerage houses in cooperation with the Central Registration Agency and Takasbank.

- TÜRİB R&D CENTER

The Surveillance Project for market surveillance in the TÜRİB R&D Center, which was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Technology as of March 23, 2021, and the Agricultural Lighting Platform Project to increase transparency in the agricultural sector and to meet the need for data are continuing.

TÜRİB R&D Center also carries out the Technological Transformation Project for the market infrastructure operated by TÜRİB.

TÜRİB, established in June 2018, carries out stock exchange activities to ensure the execution of the trade of electronic product bills (ELÜS) created by licensed warehouse operators and futures contracts based on electronic product bills.

TÜRİB continues to cooperate with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey (TOBB), the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey and other stakeholders in areas such as the digitalization of the food supply chain from field to table, the dissemination of ELÜS, the development of contract agriculture, and the dissemination of licensed warehousing.
