Hatice Güner Kal attended 66th side session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women

Hatice Güner Kal, President of TOBB İstanbul Women Entrepreneurs Council and Chair of Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee for Women Entrepreneurs, attended the 66th side session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women online at the invitation of the Kazakhstan delegation.​

Kal stated that as TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council, efforts are carried out with the awareness that energy efficiency, renewable energy and climate change adaptation policies should be implemented effectively in order to be part of the global solution.

The meeting was chaired by Lazzat Ramazanova, President of the Regional Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan; Sakina Babayeva, Chair of the Committee of Women Entrepreneurs of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and women entrepreneurs attended.

In her speech, Babayeva stated that although the establishment of the Women Entrepreneurs Committee of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry is still very new, they has come a long way in their work, and said that “I would like to thank Mr. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, who supported us.”

Speakers presented their opinions and proposals, focusing on equality and the empowerment of all women and girls, especially in the context of climate change, the environment and disaster risk reduction policies and programs.
