Automotive Supply Industry reached the most exports in 2021 on the basis of product groups

Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Automotive Supply Industry Council meeting was held under the chairmanship of Council President Alper Kanca with the participation of TOBB Vice President Ayhan Zeytinoğlu.​

Ayhan ZeytinoÄŸlu said he had recently held talks with Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati and Trade Minister Mehmet Mus. The increase in raw material prices, the sale of 25 percent of the export price to the Central Bank on the same day, the problems of the sectors related to freight and inflation support expectations to countries outside the EU were communicated one-on-one.

Council President Alper Kanca informed Council Members about the business results related to the sector, including the realization and forecasts of production in the world and Turkey, the total export amount of the automotive sector, the amount of automotive supply industry exports. Kanca informed that the suppliers that received the most share in automotive exports with a ratio of 40 percent on the basis of product groups in 2021, aiming to be the pioneer of the sector in 2022, with a target of nearly 13 percent increase in automotive exports in 2022, while the supplier informed that this figure was close to 20 percent.

Also discussed at the meeting were issues relating to the chip crisis, exchange rates, commodity increases, freight, conversion to electric vehicles, sustainability, Paris Climate Agreement and European Green Deal.
