The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Textile Industry Council meeting was chaired by Council President Adil Sani Konukoğlu with the attendances of TOBB Board Members Zeki Kıvanç and S. Selim Kandemir as well as high level representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and private sector held via video conference to discuss the latest developments in the sector.​

TOBB Board Members Zeki Kıvanç and S. Selim Kandemir stated that they closely follow the developments in the sector and communicate the problems first hand to the relevant authorities as TOBB Management, and that they are always with the sector.

Council President Adil Sani Konukoğlu informed Council Members about the activities carried out since the last meeting of the sector, and stated that they are working hard to overcome the challenges faced as an industry during the pandemic process.

At the meeting, a presentation was made by Council Advisor Atilla Bağçuvan, which included sectoral situation assessment accompanied by statistics. At the meeting where the textile sector was comprehensively evaluated with the figures of January-November 2021, production, export and import data were shared.

TOBB UYUM Mediation and Dispute Resolution Center General Manager Dr. Onur Yüksel, who attended the meeting, made a presentation and informed Council Members about TOBB UYUM efforts.

At the meeting, where current developments in the textile sector were evaluated, Council Members exchanged views on the agenda items.

The agenda items of the meeting were evaluated by Council Members on the economic conjuncture within the framework of exchange rate movements, “What does the PAMK “Pan-European Cumulative System” bring to the Turkish Textile Sector?, “Draft Communiqué on Amendments to the Domestic Goods Communiqué” prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and requested opinions.
