Luxembourg Ambassador to Ankara, Arlette Conzemius visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. With the establishment of the Luxembourg Embassy in Ankara, Ambassador Conzemius paid Hisarcıklıoğlu a courtesy visit.​

During the mutual exchange of ideas, Hisarcıklıoğlu and the guest Ambassador assessed the economic and commercial relations between the two countries. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that they wish to improve the economic relations between the two countries and bring the businessmen of both countries together, said that no Business Council yet exists between Turkey and Luxembourg and emphasized that it should be established. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that each year 500 certificates of passage are exchanged bilaterally between the two countries and that the amount is insufficient for the transportation sector. Hisarcıklıoğlu also stated his gratification for the support Luxembourg has provided in regards to Turkey’s EU accession process.
The guest Ambassador Arlette Conzemius, stating that the embassy will provide support for the establishment of a Turkish-Luxembourg business council, said that Turkish Airlines would begin direct flights to Luxembourg in the coming year. Stating that transportation of goods could also be conducted with air cargo; Conzemius said that she would contact the relevant authorities regarding certificates of passage. Stating that they were expecting a committee from Turkey to Luxembourg, the guest Ambassador congratulated Hisarcıklıoğlu on being re-elected as the Vice President of Eurochambres.
