TIR system training carried out for the Iraqi Ministry of Transport delegation

TOBB conducted an implementation training with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and IRU between 13-15 December 2021 in order to see the operation and implementation of the TIR system, of which Turkey is the largest practitioner in the international arena, for the delegation headed by the Iraqi Ministry of Transport.​

In the section of the visit program organized in Ankara with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, information sharing was provided by TOBB and ministries within the scope of the structration, legal infrastructure priorities, technical requirements and inter-agency cooperation, and information transfers were made for projects such as Silk Road, e-TIR and eCMR.

In addition, information was exchanged about the mutual benefits of Iraq's implementation of the TIR system, as well as issues that could be models in transport and customs legislation.

 

On the third day of the program, the delegation was introduced by Customs Tourism Enterprises Inc. to the Build Operation Transfer Model, which is one of the best examples of public private sector cooperation. Within the scope of the program, Kapıkule Customs Directorate was visited and workflows were observed on site.

During the program, it was stated that TOBB will continue to transfer and support experience and knowledge during the implementation of TIR Carnets and transactions in Iraq within the framework of the TIR agreement.11679
