European Green Deal Workgroup discusses EIB Action Plan

A meeting of the European Green Deal Workgroup was held with the participation of the relevant Deputy Ministers in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce. TOBB Vice President Ayhan Zeytinoğlu, representing the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Minister of Commerce Mustafa Tuzcu.
At the meeting, which discussed the developments within the scope of the Green Deal Action Plan, Ayhan Zeytinoğlu stated that the fight against climate change and the European Green Deal are among the main working issues of TOBB, and it was emphasized that it is essential that the “Emissions Trading System” compatible with the EU is designed and implemented immediately in cooperation with the private sector.
Zeytinoğlu also mentioned that the existing capacity should be strengthened in order to initiate certification studies on carbon and water footprint measurement and to verify greenhouse gas emissions by accredited conformity assessment bodies. In addition, the efforts carried out by TOBB within the scope of the fight against climate change and planned to be discussed in the coming period were relayed to the workgroup.
