The first meeting of the Workgroup was convened with the extensive participation of representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (ETKB), the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, various non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

Turkey Sector Councils Director Ayşe Çelebi Doğan conveyed the purpose of the workgroup and the expectations of the workgroup.

Bilal Düzgün, head of the ETKB Energy Efficiency and Environment Department, gave information about the energy efficiency action plan, energy efficiency monitoring and evaluation committee and the expectations of the workgroup, and Derya Sarıoğlu, Director of the Industrial Air Pollution Prevention Branch of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, consulted on what can be done on the subject.

Onur Ünlü, Member of the Turkey Climate Control Council and President of the Energy Efficiency and Management Association, was elected as the Chairman of the Workgroup and it was decided reporting would be carried out by TOBB and ETKB.

At the meeting where the members of the Workgroup introduced themselves, it was decided to meet periodically to present their work to the UEVEP Monitoring and Steering Board.
