Turkey Education Council President Ekinci reelected

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Education Council met via video conference to elect the Presidential Council and make an overall assessment of the sector, chaired by Selçuk Öztürk, TOBB Vice President and Board of Directors Member responsible for the Council.​

In his opening speech, TOBB Vice President Selçuk Öztürk reminded that Turkey's Sector Councils have been operating since 2006 and stressed that Councils are the platforms which bring together public, private and sectoral NGOs on a legal basis. Öztürk said that private schools, private education courses, publishers, driver's courses, various courses, special education and rehabilitation centers, as well as vocational and technical high schools were included in the structure in the new period, and expressed his satisfaction that a balanced structure was established.

In the election of the Presidential Council, Dr. Yusuf Ekinci, General Counsel of the Turkish Publishers Association, was elected as the Council President, and Sevinç Atabay, General Manager of TED Ankara College Foundation Schools, was unanimously elected as the Council Vice Presient. In addition, Metin Özer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sınav College, Mirkan Aydın, Deputy Chair of the Board of Directors of Nesibe Aydın Schools, and Yusuf Tavukçuoglu, Chairman of the High Advisory Board of the Turkish Association of Private Schools, were also appointed to the Presidential Council.

Council President Ekinci and Vice President Atabay thanked the members and expressed their love for any work to take the sector forward.

Council President Dr. Yusuf Ekinci gave a brief briefing on the work of the Turkey Education Council to date and shared with the members the hope that better work will be done with the participation of the Council Members in the new period.
