The main issues on the agenda of the packaging sector were discussed at the meeting chaired by Mustafa Tacir, Packaging Council President, and Engin YeÅŸil, TOBB Board Member.

Council President Mustafa Tacir expressed the problems experienced by the sector during the pandemic and presented solution proposals. TOBB Board Member Engin Yeşil stated that the Packaging Council’s views on the Packaging Waste Control Regulation have been conveyed to the relevant Ministry.

After reviewing the decisions taken at the previous meeting, the Councilors discussed the issues to be added to the agenda.

Ministry of Environment and Urbanization Representative Nazlı Yenal gave information about the impact of the European Green Deal on the packaging sector.

Ministry of Commerce General Directorate of Imports Trade Expert Mohamed Hartavi gave a presentation on price increases in raw plastic materials. In addition, information was exchanged with the members of the Council regarding the opinions conveyed about the Packaging Waste Control Regulation.
