Publishing a message regarding November 24th Teachers’ Day, TOBB and TOBB Economy and Technology University (ETU) Board of Trustees President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that any contribution made to education is contributing to the future of our country, said, “Our dear teachers are the driving force behind a nation being strong, independent and free in a race for civilization. A bright and beautiful future will be shaped in their hands.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that they are experiencing the November 24th of this year with the painful loss of 74 teachers who died in the Van earthquake, said that our nation is grateful for all the labors of our teachers.

In his message, Hisarcıklıoğlu said:

“Whether it be in our culture or our social life, teachers, who we feel great respect and love for, are our pride and joy.

As the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stated, teachers and only teachers can save nations. Youth, our future, will be educated by them and carry us to more beautiful tomorrows.

The truth is that, as the famous thinker said, there is no profession on earth more honorable and beautiful than being a teaching.

With this in mind, the Union of Chamber and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey has contributed material and spiritual support as it is able to every stage of education starting with elementary schools.

We owe a debt of gratitude to teachers for their part in bringing our country to where it is today, which we are diligently working to push further.

The value we put on our teachers are indicative of the direction of our civilization, the value we put on our children and our future.

It is with these thoughts and feelings that I, on behalf of the Turkish business world, celebrate the Teachers’ Day of November 24th and present our gratitude and respect to the education community.
