Turkish Glassware Council convened

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) met via video conference to hold its first meeting of 2021 with the participation of industry representatives, chaired by TOBB Board of Directors Vice President Ali Kopuz and Council President Murat Kolbaşı.​

TOBB Vice President Ali Kopuz stated that 2020 has been a difficult road and that the effects of the pandemic are relatively little felt thanks to timely measures taken in both the economy and healthcare. Kopuz also expressed hopes that 2021 would be a year of health, happiness and abundant earnings for all Councilors.

In the first agenda item of the meeting, a presentation on the “Economic Assessment of 2020” was made by Aycan Kulaksız of the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV).

In the second part, TOBB Turkey Trade Centers Inc. (TTM) General Manager Noyan Ciritoğlu gave a comprehensive presentation and information about the center opened by TOBB in America.

Councilors consulted on the Brexit process and its impact on the sector, with the participation of Atilla Bastırmacı, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Trade, International Agreements and the European Union.

An info presentation was made by Esin Özarslan of TOBB Environment Directorate about the European Green Reconciliation Working Group, which continues its activities within TOBB.

In the last part of the meeting, information about the work carried out by TOBB was conveyed.

The next session of council is scheduled for February.
