Telecommunications Council assessed industry

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Telecommunication Council Meeting was held via videoconference under the chairmanship of TOBB Board Member Oğuzhan Ata Sadıkoğlu and Council President Rıdvan Uğurlu.​

TOBB Board Member Oğuzhan Ata Sadıkoğlu stated that the council meeting more often would be more beneficial in finding solutions to the problems simultaneously, and reported on the activities of TOBB on behalf of the council during the pandemic.

 

During the pandemic, the Telecommunications Council stated that the 2nd Workshop on the Impact of Exports and Digital Transformation to the EU was held, that the problems of the telecommunications council were expressed during the meeting with Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu on 6 May 2020, and that the evaluation report sent from the Ministry to our Union was circulated to the members of parliament. In addition, BTK was informed of our council opinion on "Hardware and Software Investments to Be Used in the Networks of Operators", in October 2020, the Problems of the Sector were communicated to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in official writing, in November 2020 with the participation of the relevant Ministers and the participation of 61 sector council Presidents, and also in cooperation with the US Embassy in November, Rıdvan Uğurlu and Halil Yalçın moderated 5G Event.

 

At the council meeting, a detailed presentation was made about "TOBB Digitalization Virtual Fair" by TOBB Fairs Director Tuğçenaz Uğurlu.

 

In addition, a presentation was made by Tolga Tüfekçi, General Manager of Message Management Inc., on the relationship and effects of the Regulation on Commercial Communication and Commercial Electronic Messages with the Field of Telecommunications.

 

Council President Rıdvan Uğurlu made general assessments of the sector and reiterated that it would be beneficial to meet with Presidential Digital Office Officials at the next meeting.

 

In addition, it was agreed to reconvene within 3 months, exchanging views on developments in the telecommunications sector.
