Second meeting of the European Green Deal Workgroup

The second meeting of the European Union Green Deal Workgroup, established under the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), was held with the participation of V. Bahar Güçlü, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Trade, International Agreements and the EU.​

Opening the meeting, TOBB Sectors and Entrepreneurship Department Head A. Saygın Baban stated that TOBB is working to inform its members effectively and accurately about the European Green Deal and to reflect the private sector perspective on the public agenda.

Baban said that webinars are organized to inform the private sector on the subject and that they plan to continue these webinars on an industry basis in 2021. Noting that the Ministry of Commerce is working to make the best transition to the Green Reconciliation process, Baban thanked Bahar Güçlü for their participation in the meeting.

International Agreements and EU Deputy Director General V. Bahar Güçlü also made a presentation explaining the general issues of the European Green Agreement and the work done by the Ministry of Trade on the issue.

Güçlü discussed trade and the fight against climate change in the world and the EU, policy changes envisioned by the Green Agreement, preparations for the working group and action plan established within the Ministry of Trade, and the draft action plan.

After the presentation, the representatives of the sector had the opportunity to convey first-hand their thoughts and questions about the issue to Bahar Güçlü. After Bahar Güçlü answered the questions, the meeting ended with the expressed wish of continuing mutual information communication.
