TOBB Board Member Saban A. KaramehmetoÄŸlu expressed his satisfaction at being together with industry representatives and expressed that they have meticulously collected the demands as TOBB during the Covid-19 pandemic, which affects all parts of the country, and that they are always on the side of the sector.

Councilors told the meeting that with the fall in loan interest rates, the increase in housing sales and the demand for villas and garden homes during the pandemic have added momentum to the sector. Members underlined that many factories that have closed are starting to reopen, production is increasing, but they are having difficulty finding grown staff.

Standardization Group President Akif Sesli, who attended the meeting from the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), spoke the sector about the process of overhauling the TS 825 Heat Insulation Standard in Buildings. Stating that the revision works were carried out together with a workgroup of industry representatives, including members of the Soil Industrial Products Council, Sesli informed that the work had slowed down during the pandemic period but was continuing. He said intensive efforts were being made to set a standard that all industry stakeholders had agreed on.

At the end of the meeting, council members expressed great sadness about the losses experienced after the Ä°zmir earthquake, and underlined the importance of horizontal construction for human life in the next stage, that there are too many crooked urbanization and buildings with poor quality of structure in our country.
