In his statement on the matter, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “İpsala Rice has become our 41st product to receive geographical indication registration from the European Union. May it be beneficial for Edirne and our country. I congratulate our Keşan Chamber of Commerce and Industry President İsmail Şapçı, who champions our local values, the Keşan CCI Board of Directors, its Assembly, and everyone who contributed to this achievement. We have a product diversity that very few regions in the world can boast. As TOBB and the Chamber-Exchange community, we are making intensive efforts for local and geographically indicated products. Our work continues on 41 geographical indications and 2 traditional product names that are in the process of being registered with the European Union.”
