Kırkağaç Melon received Geographical Indication Registration from the EU

The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, announced that Kırkağaç Melon is the 38th product to receive a geographical indication registration the European Union and said, “May it be auspicious for Manisa and our country.”​

In his statement on his social media account on the subject, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “I congratulate everyone who contributed. We have a product diversity that is unique to very few geographies in the world. As TOBB and the Chamber-Exchange community, we are making great efforts for local and geographically marked products. Our work on 70 geographical indications and 3 traditional product names, which are in the process of the European Union, continues.”
