BIAC Event on the Role of the Business Community in Supporting Lifelong Skills

Organized as part of the Business at OECD (BIAC) Skills Summit 2026, the event titled “The Role of the Business Community in Supporting Lifelong Skills”—which assessed skill policies and transformations in labor markets—was held in İstanbul.
The event, which featured opening remarks by Business at OECD Executive Director Hanni Rosenbaum and Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security Prof. Dr. Lutfihak Alpkan, was moderated by Bettina Schaller, Chair of the Business at OECD Committee on Employment, Labor, and Social Affairs.
Panelists Feyza Narlı, Member of the TÜSİAD Extended Board of Directors and Chair of the Education Working Group, and Kristen Edgreen Kaufman, Senior Vice President of Global Impact Initiatives at USCIB, shared their assessments on skills policies and labor force transformation. Aslı Parmak, Representative of the TOBB Real Sector Research, Development, and Application Directorate, who spoke at the session, presented her views on practices in the field of vocational education and skills development in Türkiye.
The event concluded with closing remarks by El Iza Mohamedou, Head of the OECD Skills Center.
