Green Industrialization Panel held as part of Korea Climate Week

The third event of Climate Week in 2026 - an international event organized under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to support the intergovernmental process and promote urgent and inclusive climate action - was held in Yeosu, South Korea, from April 21-25, 2026.​

Sarp Kalkan, Deputy General Secretary of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), participated in the “Green Industrialization” panel organized by the COP31 Turkish Presidency as part of these events.

The panel, moderated by Michael Apicelli, Director of the Climate Club Initiative, featured Dr. Tuğba Dinçbaş, Deputy Director for Climate Change, Nurzat Myrsalieva, Program Manager of the UNIDO Net-Zero Partnership for Industrial Decarbonization; Jinyoung Yoon, Director of the Climate and Trade Policy Division at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Resources of the Republic of Korea; and Gaia Puleston, Branch Director at the Australian Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment, and Water.

The panel comprehensively addressed the fundamental economic, financial, and political expectations for scaling up decarbonization in industry, as well as how governments, international organizations, and the private sector can be integrated into the process.

The panel concluded following a question-and-answer session.
