TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay noted that the sector has a very broad structure encompassing various sub-sectors and that, due to this diversity, the sector operates under a wide range of regulatory frameworks.
Stating that they closely monitor the sector’s challenges and demands, Günay emphasized that TOBB will continue to support the process and work toward more effective solutions with the contributions of sector stakeholders.
The meeting addressed issues related to the evaluation of inner packaging labeling in cosmetic product notifications and the implementation of the ÜTS system, as well as regulations and practices concerning biocidal products and medical devices, and the registration processes for chemicals.
Additionally, the draft Eco-Design Regulation (ESPR) for sustainable products, the taxonomy document, inspections under the Pre-packaged Goods Regulation, and regulations regarding single-use plastics were reviewed, and their impacts on the sector were discussed.
The meeting concluded with general assessments of the sector’s current status and expectations, followed by closing remarks and well-wishes.
