The meeting, which began with an opening speech by Agriculture Council Chair Ülkü Karakuş at the TOBB Twin Towers, saw sector representatives share their concerns and proposed solutions with Minister Yumaklı.
In his speech here, Ali Kopuz, Vice Chairman of the TOBB Board of Directors, emphasized that agriculture is not merely an economic activity; it is also the guarantor of food security, a fundamental element of rural development, and an indispensable part of strategic independence. Kopuz stated, “For this reason, such consultations are of great importance. Global developments in recent years have once again demonstrated just how critical the agricultural sector is. While environmental factors such as climate change, drought, and irregular rainfall directly impact production; disrupted supply chains following the pandemic, rising energy costs, and geopolitical tensions have made food supply security a top priority for all countries,” he stated.
Minister Yumaklı also highlighted the multifaceted nature of the agricultural sector while listening to the views of industry representatives.
