Transportation and Logistics Council Meeting

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Transportation and Logistics Council meeting was attended by TOBB Executive Board Vice Chairman Tamer Kıran, TOBB Executive Board Member Cihat Lokmanoğlu, TOBB Deputy Secretary General Cengiz Delibaş, General Director of Transportation Services Regulation Murat Baştor, Deputy General Director Giray Yüksel, Department Heads Kerim Cicioğlu, Burhan Açıkgöz, Zafer Kögmen, Sinan Oğuz, Director of the Traffic Safety Department Aziz Bülent Yücel, and Director of the Transit and TIR Department at the Ministry of Trade’s General Directorate of Customs Serkan Ayyıldız, under the chairmanship of Council President Şerafettin Aras.​
During the meeting, which was held via video conference, members of the assembly raised the following issues: strengthening the authorization and oversight structure through data integration in the use of digitalization and technology in transportation; the establishment of a national intermodal incentive program; the cost pressures caused by fuel regulations at border crossings; the negative impact of high freight rates in Bulgaria on competitiveness, and the high fines imposed for weighing violations during waiting periods in road transport.
While the issues raised and proposed solutions were discussed, Ministry officials stated that necessary initiatives addressing the sector’s needs are being pursued.
