TOBB Türkiye Pharmaceutical Industry Council hosts Uzbekistan Pharmaceutical Sector Delegation in İstanbul

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Pharmaceutical Industry Council meeting was held in İstanbul, chaired by Council President Nezih Barut, with the participation of TOBB Board Member Seyit Ardıç, representatives of the Uzbekistan Pharmaceutical Network Development Agency, and representatives of the Uzbekistan pharmaceutical industry sector.​

In his opening speech, TOBB Board Member Seyit Ardıç stated that Türkiye’s strong infrastructure and experience in the health sector could contribute to the health sector in Uzbekistan. He also emphasized the need to increase cooperation between the two countries and the importance of visits in this regard.

During the opening session of the meeting, which was also attended by leading representatives of the Turkish and Uzbek pharmaceutical industries, Turkish pharmaceutical industry representatives provided information about their companies’ areas of activity, production capacities, and export potential. The Uzbek delegation gave a comprehensive presentation on the current state of the pharmaceutical industry in their country, public policies, the investment environment, and the priority needs of the sector.

During the meeting, while mutual information exchange took place between the parties, the Assembly Members raised questions about topics of interest regarding the Uzbekistan pharmaceutical industry sector, and the questions posed were answered in detail. The discussions covered potential areas of cooperation, primarily focusing on production, technology transfer, investment, and partnership models.

Following the meeting, the program continued with factory visits. The Uzbek delegation had the opportunity to examine the production infrastructure of the Turkish pharmaceutical industry sector on site and received information from officials about production processes, quality standards, and R&D activities.

The two-day program concluded with hopes for the development of cooperation between Türkiye and Uzbekistan in the pharmaceutical industry and the establishment of new partnerships.
