Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

Ender Yorgancılar, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), said in his speech at the opening of the fair that stated that recent political tensions, disruptions in supply chains, increased protectionist measures in trade and investment, high inflation, and rising interest rates have changed the way business is conducted and investment policies, making capital and access to investment much more valuable and protecting existing investments much more important during this period. 

Yorgancılar pointed out that following the Kahramanmaraş earthquake in 2023, major disasters caused by climate change occurred worldwide and in Türkiye in 2024, noting that all these major disasters contributed to the development of risk perception and the understanding of the importance of insurance.

Yorgancılar stated that the increasing awareness of insurance in society and the business world was reflected in the sector’s data for 2024, and that the Turkish insurance sector continued its steady growth in 2025, with total premium production increasing by 72.5% compared to the previous year, reaching 838.5 billion TL. He stated that insurance agencies were the main contributors to this growth.

Yorgancılar stated that agencies continuing their development under the leadership of the TOBB Insurance Agencies Executive Committee are becoming more institutionalized every day and improving the quality of services they offer to policyholders. He stated that the strengthening of the advisory role of agents for both individual and corporate customers is an important factor in increasing insurance awareness in society and boosting confidence in the sector. 

Yorgancılar emphasized that the Turkish insurance sector is ahead of many countries in terms of the variety of coverage provided, technological infrastructure, and regulatory framework. He also expressed his satisfaction with the legislative efforts to strengthen the impartial and independent structure of insurance experts.

TOBB Vice Chairman and İstanbul Chamber of Commerce Chairman Şekib Avdagiç, TOBB Insurance Agents Executive Committee Chairman Levent Korkut, and Insurance Experts Executive Committee Chairman Ahmet Nedim Erdem spoke at the opening ceremony and participated in the panel discussion titled “The Strategic Role of Experts and Other Stakeholders in the Growth and Development of the Turkish Insurance Sector, The Strategic Role of Experts and Other Stakeholders.”
