Webinar on transit transportation with TIR Carnet through Iraq

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), in cooperation with IRU, organized an informative webinar on transit transports to be made with TIR carnet through Iraq. In the event, where more than 100 participants took part, the practices related to transit transports to be carried out through Iraq within the scope of the TIR System were discussed.​
In the webinar, presentations were made by officials from the Iraqi Ministry of Transport and the Iraqi Customs Directorate. Information on the routes, security measures, trainings given to customs personnel and information on how to carry out TIR Carnet transactions quickly were shared with the participants.
Officials from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Trade and the Baghdad Trade Counselor's Office participated in the webinar with their suggestions and opinions. Within the scope of the event, Turkish transporters asked questions to Iraqi officials about the practices in the field and received direct information.
It was evaluated that this event will both facilitate road transportation between Türkiye and the Gulf countries and strengthen logistics cooperation between the parties.
