Forestry and Furniture Products Council holds Joint Meeting

The joint meeting of TOBB Türkiye Forest Products and Furniture Products Councils was held under the chairmanship of Saim Özakalın, TOBB Board Member responsible for the Council, Haluk Yıldız, Chairman of the Forest Products Council and Ercan Ata, Chairman of the Furniture Products Council, with the participation of Bekir Karacabey, General Director of Forestry, as well as representatives of public, private sector and non-governmental organizations.​
Following the opening speeches, the meeting continued with sectoral presentations. Dr. H. Bader Arslan from House of Advice made a presentation on the current state of the furniture sector, while Haluk Yıldız, Chairman of the Forest Products Council, shared his assessments on the forest products sector.
In the continuation of the meeting, the Council members expressed the main problems encountered in the sectors and presented their solution proposals. In particular, difficulties in raw material supply, cost increases and their effects on production processes were among the prominent topics.
Bekir Karacabey, Director General of Forestry, took the floor in the last part of the meeting and made evaluations on the issues raised by the sector representatives and emphasized the importance of working in coordination with the sector.
