Cengiz Günay, TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay, who is responsible for the Council, said that there are important issues for the development of the sector on the agenda of the Council and emphasized that the decisions to be taken will be followed up for the implementation of the decisions to be taken, and thanked the Council Members for their diligent work.
Council President Alp Önder Özpamukçu gave a brief briefing on the developments since the last meeting. Council President Özpamukçu stated that while discussing the issues of importance for the sector, the important thing is to go to the Public Sector with concrete suggestions.
Stating that e-invoice / e-archive regulation should be paved the way to replace sales receipts in market - restaurant expenditures, the Members pointed out the importance of completing the necessary work to minimize import-based costs and agreed that it would be valuable to share the roadmaps of the companies that have started this practice with the representatives.
Stating that the problem of not being able to find employees in the retail sector, investigating the reasons and producing solutions is actually a national issue, the Members stated that it is necessary to plan training according to the need.
Discussing the deposit system, which has been on the agenda recently, the Members stated that studies have been carried out before the relevant public institutions and that the transition to pilot implementation should be postponed, but that it is important for the sector to plan a more efficient process.
In addition, the proposal for a legislative amendment to implement the flexible working model, the open price platform and exorbitant price and stockpiling audits were discussed at the meeting, and it was stated that these issues should be followed up by public institutions.
They stated that the plastic bag regulation, which aims to reduce consumption and engender environmental awareness and zero waste, deviated from its purpose with the current pricing and increased usage, and that it is urgent to reconsider the application. Stating that it would be beneficial to add the retail sector to the On-the-Job Training Program again, the Members stated that it is necessary to take steps before the relevant institutions.
