Tajikistan Ambassador Sharipov visited TOBB

Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Ankara, Farruh Sharipov visited the TOBB President, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. During the meeting, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it was an honor to host Ambassador Sharipov and that they view Tajikistan closer than a friend; more akin to a brother.​ ​

Our chambers have repaid their subscriptions many times over

Speaking at the 2012 Gaziantep’s Stars Award Ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that there are those who question the work of the chambers and replied, “The Turkish Trade Law would have entered into effect in July. If it were to pass in the state it was before there would have been a yearly burden of 6 billion TL on our shoulders. It would have been more noticeable if it had happened then had been cancelled afterwards. They ask what the chambers do. My 365 chambers have worked to an extraordinary extent to protect your rights. They identified your burdens and demanded they be removed. With the support of the government and political parties, these were lifted. The worst of it was that we couldn’t get away if we paid the fines. Eighteen instances of prison sentences have been removed. You’ve gotten your subscriptions’ worth back many times over, just so you know.”​ ​

Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the opening of the new service building of the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry

The new service building of the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GSO) was opened with a ceremony attended by the TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan and the Minister for Family and Social Policy, Fatma Şahin. Attending the GSO’s new service building’s opening, Deputy Prime Minister Babacan, AK Party Vice President Hüseyin Çelik, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and other authorities cut the ribbon.​ ​

Kayseri will become a Davos with winter tourism

Attending the “Industry Chamber 2012” Award Ceremony organized by the Kayseri Chamber of Industry, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Kayseri is a candidate to be the next Davos with its winter tourism and asked for support to this end. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Suat Kılıç declared full support for Kayseri’s Davos goal.​ ​

Foundation universities should have the right to determine their academic and administrative structures

The new Higher Education Council (YÖK) Bill was assessed during the TOBB Turkey Higher Education Council meeting attended by the YÖK President Prof. Dr. Gökhan Çetinsaya and TOBB President and TOBB ETU Board of Trustees Chairman M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. TOBB President stated that foundation universities should have the right to determine their academic and administrative structures with the new law.​ ​
