Iranian Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mining Rıza Nematzade visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. Reporting that there is a sharp drop in bilateral trade figures in comparison to the previous year, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the need for two sister countries to be able to engage in commerce unhindered.​

Presidential Candidate Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Board of Directors. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated in his speech that Turkey needs to come together around joint goals of a richer and a more free country, “In order to reach these goals we must ensure peace and prosperity without excluding a single person.”​

TOBB has handed over the 25 Lorries of food aid to be sent to Turkmens in Iraq and to Gaza to AFAD. TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the aid will be delivered to 25,000 families and went on to say that they will always stand beside Turkmens and Palestinian people who are currently undergoing a horrible ordeal.​

Stating that the holy month of Ramadan has been a sorrowful one for the Muslim world, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “I hope that our nation enjoys many holidays in peace, with love and serenity.”​

TOBB President and TOBB ETU Board of Trustees Chairman M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu issued a statement for students who chose TOBB ETU, “Welcome to the TOBB ETU Family.”​

In regards to the calls for boycotting various companies and goods in Turkey, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has stated that, “Attempting to make this into an unjust campaign through misinformed and slanderous allegations will first of all damage Turkey’s economy.”​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the iftar supper hosted by Italy’s Ambassador to Ankara, Gianpaolo Scarante. Speaking at the supper, Hisarcıklıoğlu said:​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu urged an end to the attacks in Gaza causing the deaths of innocent children and civilians. Sharing the pain of the Palestinian people, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “In order to heal the wounds we stand ready to do everything in our power.”​

Preparations for the G-20 Summit next year which will be hosted by Turkey are underway. As a part of G-20’s Term Presidency, Turkey will also be hosting the B-20 Summit and will have a great opportunity for promoting Turkey to the leaders of the business world.​

Certificates of Honor and plaques were awarded to TOBB General Assembly Delegates who have served for 10 and 20 years during a ceremony hosted by TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and attended by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Abdullah Gül, and Customs and Commerce Minister Hayati Yazıcı. Also attending the ceremony were Chamber and Exchange Boards and Presidents.​
