Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

On 30th & 31st January 2017, Turkish Ministry of Economy, General Directorate of Exports, Directorate of SME and Cluster Support Department with the participation of experts from the Department of URGE Principles and Practice Training continued. Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Gaziantep Chamber of Industry also contributed to the training with the presentation of "Good Practice Example". ​

The “Data Analysis for Effective Border Management” slogan was set under the theme of “Data Analysis” as a part of the "World Customs Day" celebrations initiated by the World Customs Organization (WCO).​

Deputy Chairman of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Borivaj Minar visited TOBB and met with TOBB Board Member Yahya Toplu.​

As a part of the National Mobilization in the Working Life initiated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Visits were conducted by TOBB MEYBEM to the Steel Welder Level 3 FMC Professional Qualification Certificate exams held in Aydın on January 27th, 2017.​

The Turkish Machinery and Equipment Manufacture Council convened to discuss current developments in the sector.​

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held business forums and bilateral business forums in the capitals of Tanzania, Mozambique and Madagascar as a part of his Eastern Africa tour. Selçuk Öztürk, a TOBB Member of the Board of Directors, attended the business forums.​

Turkish Technology Meetings organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, Turkish Economy Bank (TEB) and Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) were organized in Antalya by EticaretSEM. TOBB Board Member Bülent Karakuş also attended the meeting.​

The Accreditation Board, responsible for the execution of the Chamber / Commodity Exchange Accreditation System, convened under TOBB Vice Chairman Halim Mete.​

The number of Capacity Reports, 72,433 in 2015, decreased by 0.09% in 2016, totaling 72,369.​

The number of newly established companies decreased by 12,81%, and the number of cooperatives and sole proprietorships increased by 1,52% and 53,37% respectively, according to the previous month. ​
