Inventions for children and travelers from Ankara entrepreneurs
Many interesting projects have been put forth by the 14 Entrepreneur Candidate Teams during the Startup Weekend Event. Two of these projects shared the first place. The first of these projects is the “Kitap Canavarı (Book Monster)” aimed at encouraging children to read; the other one aimed at making journeys more enjoyable, the “Keyf-i Seyyah (Traveler’s Joy)”.

2013 Fairs Calendar published
Throughout Turkey, 437 fairs will be held in 2013. The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has approved a total of 437 fairs, 129 of them international, to be held in the coming year.

Food sector’s goal is to bring safe products to consumers
TOBB Turkey Food Industry Council convened at the TOBB Union Center in Ankara with Council President Necdet Buzbaş presiding and the attendances of the Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry Food Control Department Workgroup Lead Ahmet Bostan and Laboratory Workgroup Lead Hüseyin Arap.

Land Transportation Council met in İstanbul
TOBB Turkey Land Passenger Transportation Council met in İstanbul. The council members stated that Law #6321 Regarding Changes to Several Laws as well as the additions to the Laws #6321 and #2918, upon entering into effect, have caused problems.

Agriculture Council discussed the sector’s problems
TOBB Turkey Agriculture Council convened under Council President Güngör Şarman at the TOBB Union Center. Attending the meeting in addition to the council members were Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry Food Control Vice General Director Ahmet Kavak and Food Control and Laboratories Department Head Dr. Neslihan Alper.
