Memorandum of understanding to improve trade with Ghana signed

The commerce and industry chamber administrators of the Organization of the Islamic Conference member countries who completed their training in the Chamber Academy Education Program (TOBB-IDB/ITFC-ICCI Chamber Academy) received their certificates from TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Minister of State Zafer Çağlayan visited the training program for the commerce and industry chamber presidents of the Conference of Islamic Countries states, organized by TOBB, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).​

Commodity exchanges reaching EU standards with their personnel

Speaking at the Commodity Exchanges Laboratory Personnel Certificate Signing Ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu drew attention to the investments of exchanges in the last 10 years to provide better service to producers and traders as well as the projects and technical personnel aimed at improving quality infrastructure to be on par with the EU standards.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the meeting on “Turkey’s Economic Transformation Period and the Experince of the Private Sector” held by “World Bank – IMF Turkish Staff Association”, an association of Turks working in the World Bank and IMF during his USA visit.​​ ​

Hisarcıklıoğlu met with US Foreign Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Fernandez on joint cooperation

During his USA visit, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with US Foreign Affairs Deputy Undersecretary in charge of Economy, Energy and Business World Jose W. Fernandez for lunch. At the invitation of Fernandez, Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the business lunch held at the US Foreign Affairs Ministry to relate his views on ways to improve the economic side of Turkey-USA relations.​​ ​

USA’s “will to further economic relations” is promising

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu assessed his USA contacts on Global Markets on Bloomberg TV. ​

Observing a genuine will to further international relations with Turkey in both his meetings with Hillary Clinton and Madeleine Albright as well as other contacts, Hisarcıklıoğlu; “This was the thing that gave me the most hope.”

Fleshing out of the model partnership among US MoD’s priorities

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the US Ministry of Defense Undersecretary James Townsend.​

During the meeting, which took place in the Pentagon, Hisarcıklıoğlu relayed his views on the matter of furthering the economic dimension of Turkey-USA relations. James Townsend stated that furthering of the economic relations between Turkey and the USA and fleshing out of the “model partnership” concept would also strengthen the defense bonds between Turkey and the USA, therefore were among the Ministry of Defense’s priorities.
