Agriculture Council elected new term President and Vice President

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Agriculture Council convened via video conference to elect the Presidential Council and to make an overall assessment of the sector, chaired by Özer Matlı, TOBB Board Member responsible for the Council.​

TOBB Board Member Özer Matlı said in his opening speech that TOBB has mobilized all its capabilities for solving sectoral problems in the Covid-19 process and that the transfer and follow-up of the problems in this context to public institutions/organizations was meticulously carried out. Matlı also expressed his wishes for the new term of Council to be auspicious, and thanked all members for their participation.

Matlı also noted that Turkey's Sector Councils have been operating since 2006, stressing that the Councils are the platform which brings public, private sector and sectoral non-governmental organizations together on a legal basis. Matlı stated that the Council would serve a wide range companies including seed producers, wholesale agriculture markets, biotech companies within the Agricultural Council, olive and olive oil producers, tobacco producers. He conveyed his thanks to the Presidential Council of the previous term.

M.Ülkü Karakuş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Feed Industrialists Association, was elected as Council President and Dr. Vehbi Eser, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Seeders Association, was elected as Council Vice President.

Council President KarakuÅŸ and Vice President Eser thanked the members and stated that they would contribute wholeheartedly to any work to be done to carry the sector forward.
