TOBB launches 'Digital Transformation Movement' for SMEs

TOBB has begun preparing SMEs, which form the backbone of Turkey's economy, for the future with the 'Digital Transformation Movement' project. The project was introduced with the participation of Science, Industry and Technology Deputy Minister Hasan Ali Celik, Customs and Tourism Enterprises (GTI) Chairman Arif Parmaksız and Vodafone Turkey Executive Board Vice Chairman Meltem Bakiler Şahin.​

The largest umbrella organization of the business community, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has launched the 'Digital Transformation Movement’ in order to increase the digital capabilities and competitiveness of SMEs which comprise more than 90% of the national economy to keep pace with the increasingly digitalized world.

 

TOBB, to accelerate the digitalization process to address specific issues in cooperation with Vodafone for the needs of SMEs has brought both together on the same platform for the first time in Turkey. Firstly, thanks to the Digital Score, actualized through Vodafone's contribution, the digitalization of the businesses represented by TOBB and the digital needs will be determined. Later, visits by Vodafone consultants will provide specific solutions to businesses. Businesses may also receive digital mentorship support by participating in e-commerce and digitalization training to be organized 7 in provinces.

 

The introductory meeting was held with the participation of Deputy Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Hasan Ali Çelik,Customs and Tourism Enterprises (GTI) Chairman of the Board Arif Parmaksız and Vodafone Turkey Executive Vice PresidentMeltem Bakiler Şahin.

Speaking on behalf of TOBB, GTI Chairman Arif Parmaksız emphasized the importance of the manner in which technology rapidly changes how business is conducted and how decisions are made, stated that those who cannot keep up with change will be condemned to lose.
