Organized by the cooperation of TOBB, Customs Undersecretariat and IRU (International Road Transport Union), the “The Operation of the TIR System, Carnet Holder’s Responsibilities, Customs Counselors Authorized for Customs Procedures, utilization of IT (SAFE-TIR, TIR EPD) Seminars” took place on the 20th and 22nd of June in Istanbul and on the 24th in Antakya.

The seminars are aimed at improving and quickening customs processes by informing international transportation companies and Authorized Customs Counselors about the changes in legislation in regards to TIR procedures.Throughout the seminars, representatives of the Customs Undersecretariat, TOBB and IRU gave general and up to date presentations on the subjects of; “The Operation of the TIR System and Main Principles (Changes made to the Series 1 Customs General Statement)”, “TIR Carnet Holder’s Responsibilities and Matter Requiring Attention When Using a TIR Carnet (Driver and company responsibility, using rented vehicles, enforcement procedures, etc.)”, “Customs Counselors Authorized for Customs Procedures”, “The Main Principles the TIR System and the Responsibilities of a TIR Carnet Holder in Regards to a National Guarantor Institution”, “The Operation of the TIR System and the use of Information Technologies in Regards to a National Guarantor Institution (SafeTIR, TIR-EPD)”.
