In his speech here, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity and said, “Because we are separated, we have lost grace and abundance. As Islamic countries, we should promote unity and solidarity, but we are wasting our energy and resources with the conflicts among ourselves. We must strengthen dialogue, not conflicts; alliances, not hostility. We have to be unifying, not divisive. The most important way is trade. Why trade? Because trade is the greatest source of peace. Traders don’t speak of conflict, don’t view others as bad. Therefore, first, we must remove trade barriers between our countries and increase trade with each other.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the preferential trade agreement (TIPS-OIC) between Islamic countries should be implemented and said that the work has reached the final stage. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that business and humanitarian travel can be allowed after the necessary measures are taken, and said that the issue of visas remains a problem when considered outside the pandemic process.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “We have to fight the cultural racism that is engulfing the West like the plague by using international platforms within law and democracy. Undoubtedly, the way to do this is through our unity of power.”

Pointing out that tourism is one of the sectors hit hardest by the pandemic, President Erdoğan said, “We must show the strengthening of competition and entrepreneurship, especially in our tourism sector, which is also the theme of this year's session. We must implement measures to encourage and facilitate trade so that our foreign trade does not experience heavy damage during the pandemic. I would like to emphasize in particular the importance of the steps we will take to increase trade between our member states within the scope of ISEDAK.”
