Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that TOBB and chambers/commodity exchanges are the institutions where democracy is most intensely practiced, pointed out that council members come to office by election, not by appointment. He explained that council members are leaders in the sectors in which they are elected and that this leadership brings responsibility.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed that there are no riches in these positions, and that they have made sacrifices from their jobs, their homes and their friends.

Hisarcıklıoğlu advised council members to explain everything they do and inform the members.

He asked the council members not to marginalize each other, to love each other, regardless of their political views, sects, ethnicities or religions.
