Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed that the contracting sector has a very important place in the economy, “Our capital accumulation map in Turkey is the transition from farming to trades, from trades to merchants, from contracting to industry and tourism sector. If a capital accumulation is to be created in Turkey, the contracting sector is the most important sector. Behind the industry and tourism there is the construction sector. That's the general trend.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu, the contracting sector is a sector that stores employment, stating, “If the unemployment figures are so high, the most important reason for this is the stopping of the construction sector. If the construction sector is moving, Turkey's unemployment figures will automatically go down. It also mobilizes about 250 industrial subsectors.”

The TOBB President noted that the sector has begun to move a little with the banks having lowered interest rates.

TOBB Turkey's Construction Contractors Sector Council President Tahir Tellioğlu also recounted the problems experienced in the sector.
