23.11.2019 / Ankara

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of (TOBB) President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of TOBB University of Economics and Technology (ETU) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu published a message on the occasion of November 24th Teachers' Day, stating that teaching is one of the most honorable professions, adding, “Our teachers who prepare our children for the future are the architects who design the world of tomorrow.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:

“We as a people have adopted the saying, 'I will be a slave for forty years to whoever teaches me but a single letter'. It is the teachers who save nations and prepare them for the future. We recognize that a teacher is their class; we understand how they influence the children, and that is why we hold them in such high regard.

The works of teachers are educated people: They are the people who run this country, they are artists, scholars, athletes, businessmen, workers, farmers, civil servants. In short, it is basically the education of our teachers that shapes everything.

Within this understanding, as the umbrella organization of the Turkish business world, we continue our education assistance in cooperation with our 365 chambers and commodity exchanges all over Turkey. By building schools in 81 provinces, we are trying to fulfill the business community’s mission in education.

We believe that the most beneficent of people is the one beneficent unto others. There's nothing more beneficent on earth than this.

It is with these feelings and thoughts that I congratulate our esteemed teachers on November 24th Teachers' Day and pay my gratitude and respect to our education community.”
