Border Carbon Regulation Mechanism Training for Fertilizer Exporters

The first training for fertilizer producers and exporters within the scope of the training series designed to prepare companies for the Border Carbon Regulation Mechanism (SKDM), which is prepared within the scope of the European Green Agreement and will affect our country significantly, was carried out.​

The opening speech of the training, which was attended by interested parties from public institutions, private sector, chambers and exchanges from about 10 provinces, was delivered by A. Saygın Baban, Head of Sectors and Entrepreneurship Department.

In the first part of the training, the general framework was presented. Topics such as the Paris Agreement and the Green Deal Relationship, the Content of the Fit-For-55 Package, the scope of the Mechanism for Carbon Regulation at the Border, the implementation and transition process, risks and opportunities for our country and the fertilizer industry were discussed.

ISO14064-1 Corporate Carbon Footprint Relationship with SKDM in the second part, where more technical details are explained in the fertilizer sector, the steps to be followed for calculation, the data and calculation factors needed according to ISO 14064-1:2018 standard, as well as information on the categorization of emissions, the status of facilities not covered by SKDM was provided and answers were sought to questions such as where and how to obtain the required data, and how to verify emissions.

After a Q&A session, the training concluded.

Border Carbon Regulation Mechanism trainings will continue for other sectors expected to be affected by SKDM in the coming periods.
