Beverage Industry Council meets for agenda review

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Beverage Industry Council convened via video conference with the participation of TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay and chaired by Ozan Diren, Beverage Industry Council President.​

TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay spoke after his opening speech, and Council President Ozan Diren gave information about the issues raised at the consultation meeting of the Sector Councils held with Trade Minister Mehmet Muş.

Diren also stated that the sector is particularly positive about the inclusion of secondary versions of agricultural products that are of interest to semi-finished producers and cannot be stored as fruits within the scope of licensed storage and the factories where they are produced are to be considered licensed warehouses.

The report prepared by the Turkish Beverage Council Deposit Management System Workgroup, which started preparations for the Council Sector Report and Strategy Document to embody the working areas and roadmap of the Council was also evaluated.

After receiving information about the Draft Water Law and the 1st Water Council efforts, the Council made assessments on issues such as charging water use in industry and determining in which key areas water will be used by basin commissions in basin-based management and emphasized the need to integrate the Draft Water Law with the Summit outputs. TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay said that the process will be supported by contacting the relevant authorities.
